Quiet Books

I love The Finch Family and Games, they make the cutest helpers for a whole lot of LDS needs. Most recently I've been working on these quiet books (first known as file folders, but I did it a little different) to keep the kids busy during sacrament meeting, and now I am officially done! I absolutely love how they turned out! Each book has fourteen two-page activities. I made two of them since one kid always wants exactly what the other one has... yes, my kids are spoiled! But I love it, it's a fun part of being a mom (at least I think so). I say I'm "officially done" because I thought I was... at first I thought I would just have the kids lay the pieces in place, but when it actually went into use the lamination made it too slippery. I didn't want to use Velcro, because I think it's too noisy. I thought about sticky-tack but I don't think my kids understand how to use it right, maybe Liv but I could only foresee trouble when it got into the hands of Gary boy. With combined heads Todd and my MIL came up with magnets... so I cut up the thin magnets used for business cards into small squares. Turns out it works well enough! The kids love them & I'm excited for quieter (I hope) meetings in the future!

New Kit

I recently bought this kit from Zoe Pearn, it's called Berry Lovely and I really like it! I especially like the realistic felt flowers, they're my favorite! I am also doing something I've wanted to do since I fell in love with digital scrapbooking but haven't felt ambitious enough yet... I am applying for a creative team... Zoe Pearns creative team to be exact. Wish me luck!

Liv's pages

I've been working hard on these pages... slow and steady. I haven't had a lot of creative inspiration lately, still a little burned out from all the catching up I did for my own book and lack of funds, but it's starting to come back. I've used a couple quick pages from Misty Cato to help get the juices flowing. So it's coming along, so here's where I am to date:

Digi Dare #83

I was excited for this digi dare, to scrapbook my obsession (or rather one of my obsessions). The requirement's were: 1 paper, 2 photos of your obsession, 3 fonts or alpha, 4 random elements, 4 lines of journaling. So I didn't completely follow the rules, but it was great inspiration, as the digi dares are really meant to be. Here it is... my obsession scrapbooked:

Journaling:
These hands tell a story of an incredible
woman who made elegant blankets. She
was taught by her grandmother,
and when I, her daughter,
was ready she taught me.
Now I make beautiful
creations. In each is told her
LEGACY and my OBSESSION!

Digi Dare #81

For Digi Dare #81 we are to celebrate Easter and tell the about what we did, traditions, a funny story, etc. You can use only one picture, two alphabets, embellishments that have to do with Easter (eggs, bunnies, etc.), and a two word title... This is my layout, but I'll definitely have to do a second page, maybe, because there are a lot more fun pictures of Gary and his colored Easter eggs!!

Journaling: Coloring eggs is always an adventure with Gary. so this year Todd made sure to clearly explain the process. He demonstrated how we gently put the egg onto the wire spoon, then softly place it onto the bottom of the cup with the dye in it. Todd then turned to help Liv get her eggs started; just then Gary grabbed an egg from the carton and THREW it into the dye that Todd had just placed the egg in... *CRACK* It was impossible not to laugh!!

Digi Dare #79

This weeks challenge seemed easy enough since I look to other layouts for inspiration when I'm lacking anyways. Unfortunately, I think my creativity is drained due to the amount of scrapbooking I've been doing to get caught up. Nonetheless, this is my page... for now. So here's the rules for this digi dare: the challenge for you this week is to scraplift a current Digi-Darer. You don’t need to use the same kit, you don’t need to use the same number of pictures (you can if you want!) but you do need to get inspired. I found this layout by Karah:

And here is my version:

Digi Dare #78

I had a hard time with this digi dare because I don't have any lucky charms. The rules were: must use green, symbol of luck or blessing (shamrock, rainbow, cross, etc), and throw in a bracket or two. As I was saying I don't have any lucky charms and a lot of people spotlighted how lucky they were to have their kids & family, which is true, but I didn't want to follow suite. Instead I decided to state how lucky I am to experience life since that's a lesson I have become grateful for. Credits go to Misty Cato's new Baby Brights kit that I LOVE!

All Caught Up

What a relief! I am finally all caught up (minus a couple months that I'm finishing for last year traditional style-scrapbooking)!! Another thing I love about digi-scrap is now it's real easy to get Liv and Gary's books done since several of my pages can be slightly altered to be the perfect pages for their books too! Yay! So now I'm on to Liv's and then Garys! It's good to celebrate one's achievements!

Digi Dare #76

For this Digi Dare (at least how I understood it) we're supposed to pick a layout we have done previously that we love, then use that same idea to create a new one with some twists like: rotate the layout, use embellishments that are complete opposites. It must have: at least one picture, title, and journaling. So here's the layout I love:
and here's the new layout:

Almost...

I'm almost caught up, on my book that is... but that's another great thing about digital scrapbooking, it's real easy just to print the page again for each of the kids as needed! So when I finish catching my own book up I'll have less work to do for each kid cause a lot of the pages will already be done!

Riding the Wave

I'm still riding the creative wave while the muses are singing! It's nice to finally be getting caught up to date in my scrapbooking! Here are the latest...
