I was able to finish a couple of crochet projects before Suzy came and life got centered on baby! This is one of them, made for baby Noah... my newest nephew! It's a fun year for our family, there will be three new additions by the end of the year. Baby Noah was born in February, baby Suzy came two and a half weeks ago, and another baby boy is coming in June! Very exciting.. which
reminds me, I need to get going on another one!
Over the last couple months I have finished two baby blankets for precious baby girls! The first one was not my favorite as I started it, but it grew on me and I ended up really liking it! The baby this one is for hasn't arrived yet but is due any minute, I'm excited to meet her! The second one is an all time favorite, not just for me but for my customers (yes, I do sell my blankets too. I think I've mentioned that before). This is the second request I've had for this
one & I'm excited to see how it goes with the baby. This little princess has an antique white dress (from the early 1900s) that she'll be wearing when she is blessed, so her mom asked that I make this one as it fits the flavor of that era. I think that is awesome!
This "Looney" blanket was very fun to make, and was given to my bestest friend, Laura Joy, for her soon to arrive baby girl! My favorite thing about this blanket is the fringe! I hate fringe, I hate how messy it can get, and how it can tickle your nose when you cuddle with it. Anyways, so I thought this was the perfect solution! By putting three single crochets in each chain creates a spiral effect that is so fun and decorative while also giving the fringe the
bulk it needs to hang nicely without tangling! I also love the color combination. I know it's not the most "girly" combo, but Laura's favorite color is yellow, so I hope so loves it's bright playfulness! I am super excited to meet Laura's little one when she finally arrives here sometime before the end of June!
I finally get to post this blanket! I made it awhile ago for the soon to be newlyweds, Brittany and Shawn, but I didn't want to post it in case they saw it here first. But Monday we had a shower for the bride-to-be, so I gave it to her then! She liked it, but not as much as I liked making it! I love flowers, but I rarely make them because usually the pattern saws to make each motif (flower and border) individually... not this pattern. Whoever designed this,
bless their heart, made it possible to make these beautiful flowers in strip forms! Some of you might totally be lost by now, but just trust me, it's awesome!!
I am so proud of this little guy, I just love him! It's amazing how hard and easy he was to make. Hard because he's so small (only about 5inches tall), but easy because he's so small so he was quick to make! Overall, though, it made me want to make more crocheted animals and such!!
This turned out to be such a pretty blanket! It's not my favorite pattern but it's so quick and easy, and I had only two weeks. I wanted to give the plain pattern something special, so I was so excited when I discovered how soft Bernat yarn is these days. The extra strip of shine they put in their yarn gave this blanket sparkle! It turned out 
so gorgeous and soft... I love it and was proud to give it to Todd's cousin for her newborn girl, Syrie Dawn!
This was a fun pattern... I love when I come across fun patterns! I actually have attempted this one once before and quit for one reason or another. Since I couldn't remember why I decided to give it another try because I like the look of it so much. Turned out to be really cute and a nice size! I can't wait to see it wrapped around the little baby that is actually being born any minute as I write this!!
I love this blanket! At first the color combo was too Neapolitan ice cream, but as it came together I was in love! This pattern is fabulous! I hadn't braved it yet, because it's another special one that is tied to my mom. She used this pattern to make a lavender and white blanket for Liv as a newborn, so I felt funny about it for a long time. BUT I have overcome this awkwardness and have now made my own beautiful work of art! Yay!
This blanket has been waiting for me to finish it for awhile... I ran out of yarn with 3/4 of the last border row left (which seems to be the trend for me lately, very frustrating to have to buy a whole other scane just for that little bit). It's hard for me to believe I made a whole blanket out of variegated yarn... I'm not a big fan of it, only in small amounts. But during Easter time I saw this yarn and, due to the season, I loved it & had to use it! Then I 
ran out of yarn & had a blanket to make for a wedding... one thing followed another, so just not I've finally finished it! Yay!
This was a nail biter... I decided to make it for an old friend's wedding two weeks before their big day. Fortunately it was a quick pattern and all went smoothly, until I lost my pattern book two days before it needed to be done. That was extremely frustrating, I felt like a chicken running around without my head attached. In the end I had to just decide how I wanted to complete it on my own, and finished it last Friday night, their wedding was the next
morning. I was so happy with how it turned out, I definitely would make it again!
I can't believe how long it's taken me to deliver this blanket... it was for baby Benjamin that arrived to the Galvez family March 6, 2008. I rushed to get it done by Easter Sunday to deliver it at the Egg Hunt... I got it done, but I forgot to bring it with me. Then between getting the house sold and the move (where it one of my fabulous helpers packed it up without knowing it was supposed to be given away that day) I still hadn't given it away.
But FINALLY I was able to give it to him at our Mother's Day dinner! So happy! I really like this pattern. There's a lot of small stitches so it took longer than other blankets to make, but in the end it is simply elegant!
I have been holding on to a couple of blanket pictures until I was able to deliver them to their receivers before I shared them with all of you! This beauty was created for one of my life long friend's first baby. I am so excited that she will soon have this new addition since children can be so much fun, congrats!!
mom worked on before she passed away. I've held on to that one, unfinished and all, in case I have another daughter in the future (being that it's pink), but I'm glad I finally got over the lump in my throat... turns out I LOVE this one!
I've been working on a handful of blankets, but have been waiting until I gave them away before I posted them so I didn't ruin their surprise. So here's this soft and cuddly blue one for baby Carson that arrived last week to the Davis family! This pattern of shells was easy going and easy to do. I really enjoyed it & will enjoy it even more when I see this cute baby
all bundled inside of it!
I still love this pattern. I finished this blanket a couple weeks ago and gave it to my dear friends, Sheena's, precious baby girl, Kate! Sheena is a whole lot braver than me, she has two girls that are each about a month 
younger than mine... now another one! She is a real good friend and a cute mom and I am grateful I was able to give her one of my favorite blankets!
I have been so upset that it's taken me so long to get this blanket to my first ever nephew, but it's finally done! It was actually the second one I did for him, but some how lost the first one... I guess if you saw my box and pile of yarn and blankets it'd make complete sense, but let's not go there!! I chose this bright green because every time I see my brother-in-law he's always always in green, so I just figured he'd carry this on 
to his son! The blanket dimensions are 32.5x34 inches. This is the second time I've done this blanket, and I've really enjoyed it both times! Since I wasn't able to access the internet with my computer for so long this poor little beauty got overlooked. This one took me a while because it's made almost entirely of popcorn stitches. Popcorn stitches make it real thick and warm, but takes a whole lot of yarn. Overall, I am very pleased with how it turned out. The flowers are more hidden in mine (they were stood out more in the pattern picture, but it's all in the color and perception). This one is up for sale on Etsy, so feel free to look into it. I have been working real hard on my
blankets since I'm setting a goal to sell enough to pay for my super awesome camera that got ruined during a "mommy moment"... here's the story: I was taking Liv with me to my little brother's Honk performance. Time was tight so I was rushing to get everything together to get to places on time. In the process I didn't know I hadn't screwed on her sippy cup lid. Orange juice filled my purse as we drove. In the end it had drenched everything in my wallet, made my phone do weird things, and ruined the camera so it wouldn't take pictures. Turns out there's a flat rate of $200 to clean it all up and get it working again :( So, even if you aren't interested in a blanket, could you spread the word... I'd appreciate it!!
for the shower & the blue one done the day after the shower so I was still able to give it to her before she left, YAY! I would also like to take this moment to say how grateful I am that I haven't ever had twins... that my kids came one at a time. As for Steph, as her aunt said at her shower "Heavenly Father knew she'd only be able to do this once (it was quite difficult for her to get pregnant) so he twice blessed her!"
I finished this one today, no it's not my own design... I wish it was cause it's absolutely gorgeous, but it's not. I am very grateful for the genious mind that did think it up, though! Anyways, this one is for my aunt Shannon, special order. It's the second time I've done this pattern & people just love it! I love it too, it's very elegant but for a baby... very classy!
I thought could be done (oh & doilies). But now I've learned of this whole crocheting community that does all sorts of other fun stuff... I mean, even more than just stuffed animals. It's amazing & it gets me all anxious to expand my capabilities. Then again I have so much going on tha twhen I do start leaning something new, if it doesn't go smoothly I just toss it aside. I don't so much like that idea either... it's like I'm running around in circles. I've come to realize that I have a whole lot of life ahead of me to learn new stuff, I don't have to learn and conquer it all in a day or a week. Right!? For now I'm going to enjoy the beautiful baby blankets I can create and work on the blanket of my own designing & be content with that... for now!
