For a Philanthropist badge the girls have been learning about giving back to the community. After learning about wants vs needs we went to Deseret Industries to learn about helping everyone stay clothed. Today we went to the Dixie Care and Share to learn about keeping people fed! The girls even had cookies to donate that they had sold during cookie season. The girls informed customers about this goal, so people specifically bought cookies to be donated for this purpose! It has been a good experience learning about how these two places do even more than just clothing and feeding people. They are providing shelter, teaching, and helping people develop social/life skills and obtain jobs! Thank you!
