Liv's Kindergarten Graduation

I'm a little bit behind, but a couple of weeks ago Liv had her Kindergarten graduation! I'm not real sure why there is a Kindergarten graduation, but I'm happy for any excuse to watch my little princess perform! She is so animated and full of excitement... totally priceless! She said her par, "I know a song about the color orange," loud and clear! She has grown so much in Kindergarten I'm excited to see where she goes from here. And I hope that she keeps her excitement for school for a long long time! When she got off the bus the last day of school she was crying. We had a good chat about first grade and friends she could see at recess even if they weren't in the same class. That cheered her up a bit, but how wonderful it is that she loves school so much that it brought her to tears the last day of school. She is an angel, and I'm very proud of her (if you couldn't tell ;))

Gary's Four Year Old Pictures (finally)

We finally had a weekend where we could take Gary boy's four year old pictures. It worked out great because Gary was in the mood to have his picture taken so he was all smiles. I was still grateful to have Todd behind me directing his eyes, but it wasn't a fight like it would've been if taking pictures would've been all my idea! He is such a gorgeous little boy, and I was so happy with how brightly his blue eyes stood out!

Cake Decorating Course One

Last month I took a cake decorating class. I figured it might actually be nice to really know what I'm doing instead of always just winging it! I learned a lot. I learned it's a whole lot harder than it looks. I learned that I really don't like Wilton's buttercream recipe. I learned that I don't like decorating with buttercream, I'd rather use fondant. I think that was the most important lesson, try new things so I can find what I really love. So here are the three cakes I made in those four weeks, they're okay (but I was very surprised at how well the rose cake turned out once I got all my flowers on the cake). I'm looking forward to taking a fondant and gumpaste class in the future & I've already made a quick and simple fondant cake just to get my excitement back up. I am just happy to have more knowledge and ability now!

Leeds, England Mission

Last weekend I was able to drive up to Salt Lake so I could be there when my "little" brother opened his mission call! On July 30th, 2010 he'll fly to the the LDS missionary training center in England! I was so happy to be there when he opened it. He was shaking with excitement and his smile was too wide for his face! I think England is a great fit for him... he gets to go to a different country but doesn't have to worry about learning a completely new language! I am very proud of him!
