Last month I took a cake decorating class. I figured it might actually be nice to really know what I'm doing instead of always just winging it! I learned a lot. I learned it's a whole lot harder than it looks. I learned that I really don't like Wilton's

buttercream recipe. I learned that I don't like decorating with buttercream, I'd rather use fondant. I think that was the most important lesson, try new things so I can find what I really love. So here are the three cakes I made in those four

weeks, they're okay (but I was very surprised at how well the rose cake turned out once I got all my flowers on the cake). I'm looking forward to taking a fondant and gumpaste class in the future & I've already made a quick and simple fondant cake just to get my excitement back up. I am just happy to have more knowledge and ability now!
