Being a Photographer

Since Todd was laid off I decided to take the opportunity to get a job doing something I love... taking pictures. I was hired on the spot at Sears Portrait Studio the end of the month. It's been a very learning experience. I have learned loads more about posing and selling photos, as well as learning that I don't do so well working for someone else. It's hard to have so much pressure to sale a certain dollar amount when there's no commission made and a small dollar amount being paid. That's been frustrating. It's also made me miss being at home with the kids, I love being their mom and helping them every day to learn and grow. So I'm also excited that things with the house went so smoothly so that I can get back to the real job I love... being Mom!

Fun! My DH bought me a really nice professional camera after Christmas-- with the promise I'd take the pictures myself and not spend hundreds at Sears :) I just went there last week-- I broke my promise. :(
I've always thought it looked fun doing that, but I'm sure it can be stressful-- especially when I think of them having to deal with my 3-year-old! :)

I bet you are doing a great job both as a photographer and a mom! Keep up the good work.

Blast! I'm so sorry to hear that Todd got laid off, but that is exciting that you get an opportunity to grow. I know what you mean about working for other people! Hang in there! It will all work out one way or another.

Hi Tami! I'm glad you found me! When will you be moving exactly? Looks like life is keeping you busy, and I'm glad that things are looking up for you. I'll keep an eye on your blog as well...it's fun to see your cute family!
