Digi Dare #76
For this Digi Dare (at least how I understood it) we're supposed to pick a layout we have done previously that we love, then use that same idea to create a new one with some twists like: rotate the layout, use embellishments that are complete opposites. It must have: at least one picture, title, and journaling. So here's the layout I love:

Happy Birthday Aaron
This upcoming week my little brother, Aaron, will be celebrating his 16th birthday! We celebrated with cake and ice cream after his excellent performance in "Boys in the Hood" (a spoof on Robin Hood) since we had most of the family all together. The play was really funny, and Aaron was absolutely wonderful! The characters had a lot of scenes with plays on words which cracked me up... like "I know Robin, what's he been up to?" response "Robin'" in confusion "I know he's Robin, but what has he been doing" and then it goes on like that for a bit until they give up. It was especially fun because Liv told me "I want to be in a play when I grow up, and Gary will be in a play when he grows up too, but I'll be grown up first..." she loved the play too, and that was fun to watch her enjoy it so much! So here's to you Aaron, my completely wonderful brother who is very intelligent, witty, and absolutely hilarious! You did a wonderful job on the play and have had so much success in life so far, I can't wait to watch you continue to grow and find out what your future holds!

Liv Loves Shopping
Today I went with Liv on her school's field trip to the Discovery Center at the West Valley Rec Center. The place had all sorts of hands on stations, but I knew as soon as I saw this little supermarket that Liv would be spending all of her time there. I was almost 100% right! I was glad that she did try out the playground, but it was dark and scary for her. So she went back to the supermarket area. First she did her shopping, gathered up all her goodies then let a friend check her out, then handed her little friend imaginary money to seal the deal. After that she put on the apron and played the part of cashier. I can tell that she's definitely been shopping too much since she knew just how to ring up someone just like the grown ups! It was so fun to watch her use her imagination and play with her friends! At the end of playtime, though, it was decided... we definitely have to build our own little supermarket in our next house!

Storm Aftermath
It's been almost a week since the crazy storm that hit Utah last Wednesday, but I still had to post this picture. See, we had a couple of really nice days which melted a lot of the snow. I was so disappointed cause I wanted to get a snapshot of the deep snow in the backyard to send to my aunt in the warm weather of southern Texas, but the warm weather had melted almost all of it. But that Wednesday night it all came back! We got about three feet of snow! The picture is significant especially because I'm normally a couple of inches taller than that play set behind me! This winter has been one for the books, for sure!

A Happy Valentine's Day
I hope you all had a day full of so much love as we did here! It started out at Liv's preschool where she had her first Valentine's Day party! It was so cute to watch her sing and dance with her friends! She especially loved getting all the valentines ready and attaching sweets for her friends at school as well as around the neighborhood! The day ended with a fun date just my honey and me! We went and saw Jumper and spent time just being a couple! What a great holiday to have so we can set aside time to just love one another!

Almost...
I'm almost caught up, on my book that is... but that's another great thing about digital scrapbooking, it's real easy just to print the page again for each of the kids as needed! So when I finish catching my own book up I'll have less work to do for each kid cause a lot of the pages will already be done!

I've Been Tagged
Recently a friend from high school, Melinda, days has joined the blogging world and caught onto all the fun games we play... including tags. So I was tagged in one post with some fun questions to answer:
10 years ago... I was in eighth grade, which is funny cause my husband was in his senior year at the same time.
Snacks I enjoy: chocolate chip cookies and chocolate milk breakfast drinks (carnation).
Things on my to-do list: It's late in the day, but I still need to... put Liv to bed, relax in a warm tub and read my book, then either get some more scrapbook pages done or crochet and watch X Files (yeah, reruns, I'm a nerd). Then get a good night's rest!
Things I would do if I were suddenly a billionaire: Definitely put a load in a savings account that has a nice interest return, pay off my mortgage (and other various debts) as well as mine and Todd's parents! Then travel to a couple of places I've only dreamed of going to. That's at least a start!
Three of my bad habits: guilt trips, being picky, and making beds (but I am getting better!)
Jobs I have had: recently I'm working at the Sears Portrait Studio, I cleaned hotel rooms when I was going to college, I worked at the Sears Watch Repair as well as the Sears store (in home fashions).
Things people don't know about me: I'm paranoid when I'm vacuuming (a long story I may tell you all someday) and I wish I could play the piano better but I quit taking lessons because I know my future will be filled of piano playing callings in the LDS religion for the rest of my life.

Happy Birthday Gary Boy!
Today is my little boy's second birthday! I can't believe it's been two years... he still seams like my little baby! It was a long day two years ago, waiting for little Gary Boy to be delivered. But he arrived, a sweet bundle of joy! At two years old Gary loves to watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, play with his toy cars, kick and throw balls, and eat apples! We celebrated his birthday during half time of the Super Bowl since we had the whole gang over anyways. He got great gifts which included this little drum set that he loves so much! He is musically inclined and has great rhythm... I am so excited to see what this cute little boy grows up to be!! Click here and here for his baby pictures!

Patriot Blues
Despite the crazy snow storm we had last night that left us with deep snow drifts (up to 4ft in most places), we successfully held an awesome Super Bowl party! Unfortunately, we are also Patriot fans... which meant that besides a great party, surrounded by fabulous friends and family, and tons of yummy food, we had a disappointing night. The game was close (against the New York Giants), and that is all I usually hope for out of the super bowl, but loosing the biggest game of the year after an undefeated year was heart breaking. Again, though, the night was a blast, I am so grateful to have such wonderful family and friends to celebrate and party with! Enjoy the faces of Todd... I love how animated he is when watching football (always happy, he's never blown up at the tv, not yet at least)!

The Enchanted April
I actually didn't read through this book, The Enchanted April by: Elizabeth Von Arnim. About 100 pages into it I couldn't take the ladies' tones anymore. They were all so snobbish, or at least the tone of the Victorian era was very prevalent, and gave me a headache. Plus, this was a book club book... the lady chose it because she's always loved the movie and just found out it was a book, so we'd be watching the movie at our monthly book club meeting. The movie was alright, but still not my favorite. It was fun enough and lessons to be learned, so if you have the a liking for the Victorian era, books written at that time, then you'd probably love this book! For me, I'll stick to modern books written in the Victorian setting, it's a whole different tone!

Digi Dare
Here's my first completed Digi-Dare (#72). I am always looking for insperation, it's easy to fall into a slump of "what feels comfortable"... I think this is a great way to get out of any kind of rut. This dare was to use two of everything: two patterned papers, two ribbons, two titles, two pictures, etc.
